Ringbound
Ringbound is a persistent browser 4X you play in long arcs, not sessions. Everyone begins the same way: alone, on one world, in a sealed birth cluster nobody else can reach — with a dormant beacon.
Build your system properly. Mine, refine, research, raise a fleet, and deal with what is already out there, because the void was never empty. Then make the game's defining choice: light the beacon and join the living galaxy — trade, guilds, diplomacy, war — or stay dark, because being invisible is a strategy, and broadcasting is what puts you on everyone else's map.
What makes it different:
- Distance decides fights — combat is fought across real range bands, and fleets are lost for keeps
- Wreckage is a resource — battlefields leave drift and hulks you can salvage, tow, and rebuild
- Trade is physical — every shipment is a real convoy in space that can be escorted or raided
- You manage systems, not colony lists — satellite colonies feed a hub instead of demanding clicks
- The galaxy keeps moving while you sleep — and so do your standing orders
Honest status: this is an alpha playtest. It's free, there's nothing to buy, and the developer is actively building in the open.
